Mani My Honda Civic
09 November 2007, 13:17 by Mani

So I said I'd blog about the new car so I suppose I must, pretty pleased with it so far but finding the brakes a bit weird.

For starters here's a load of pictures, tbh I think it's the best looking car in it's class, but that's not hard, most small family size cars look like shit (the new Focus for example)

Ah, the brakes, don;t know why; perhaps you've just got to press harder but it seems to take ages to stop. My C2 could stop much faster, suppose I'll get used to it.

Nice, was tempted by the new civic at one point. Not so keen now but nice cars all the same - prefer the Type-R grill though, black rather than chrome.

Agree about the new Focus, they really messed up the back in particular. Happy with my 'old' Focus for the time being.

I thought my breaks on my mg were broke at first, even more so when i drove the company WV (not that the "stop on a dime" breaks stopped me from crashing it), but it turns out there supost to be like that, like the so called sports suspension, my work mates mg is the same.

That looks like a ****in Futuristic Hairdryer.

Well aslong as your happy with it craig, but i think its ****in horrible sorry bro, complete chav mobile.

As for the brakes they'll still be the original pads and discs on 5k miles so i'd be taking it back for them to have a look at, they maybe glazed, it could have been abused by a chav if it was a courtesy car.

Did you say yours is a lighter shade of burberry ?

LOL Shags ! I like the rear & it was the triangular exhausts which struck me the 1st time I saw one of these .
I have two friends with these cars & they are both happy with them & some of the innovative features such as the way the rear seats fold up . I see 4car gave it 4 out of 5 which was good , it lost one star due the the fact its a BIRD's motor :-P

Nice car

I don't understand though... how is it the least bit chavy? It hardly looks pimped. As mal said, it's very smart, and you know how anti chav I am

yea it was the type-r they slated, cos its so inferior to the old model. Looks a nice car, dunno how it can be called chavvy all they can afford is shitty old nova's and saxo's, but seeing as we are winding up craig, nice chavmobile

Had my 1998 Honda Civic (in compulsory silver) since... well, clearly 1998 - but the point is in all that time the only single bit of it that hasn't worked like a slavishly dedicated oriental pack-mule has been the battery. The battery is 3rd party, so can't be blamed on Honda - the rest is so reliable it's brilliant. Left it outside without being used for 4 months? Starts first time. Been roadhogged off the road by a Dutch truck into a ditch? Still works first time. Put diesel in it yet again by accident? It will still get you home.
Above experience has also taught me that replacement Civic bodywork is pretty surprisingly expensive, the acceleration is in no danger of sending you so much as a millisecond back in time. and you'll be amazed at how much that silver nicely contrasts the birdshit and roadgrease all over it, but otherwise sterling choice Sir!

Looking at getting the American Civic Si Coupé. Think it's similar to the Si here, but the bodywork is completely diff. The Si comes with the 197bhp Vtech. Will set me back about $22k

Actually it's still linked from the front of the site under blogs.

If I can get a bloody car loan I might just go for a Mazda3 instead. Looks nicer than the (US) Civic.

I picked up a 2007 Civic Si yesterday. Was going to go for a Jazz (called Fit over here), but took the Civic for a test drive and loved it. Thing goes like shit off a shovel, well it should with 197bhp under the hood

Here's some pics
