Here's a first set of FIFA Manager 10 screenshots, it's not yet known when this year's EA footy management sim will be released.

Zuxxez Entertainment and developers Reality Pump have today announced Two Worlds II, the RPG sequel is due in the coming Winter for PC, Mac and next gen consoles which I take as Xbox 360 and PS3.

"Two Worlds II" presents a totally new gamer experience, one in which 2 years of intensive development has enabled quantum leaps in all spheres: completely overhauled AI and balancing standards, experienced authors, the active combat system and the brand-new engine all combine to provide an unforgettable experience where excitement, sheer enjoyment and graphics rule. "Two Worlds II" simply sets new technical benchmarks in the RPG genre, thanks not least to its seemingly unlimited number of dynamic light sources, micro-detail Parallax Mapping, 24 Bit HDR Post Processing, Space Ambient Occlusion and Human Eye Accommodation.

Alexandra Constandache, the Executive Producer of TWII commented, "We intentionally opted for a completely independent game with radical new technology. This was the only way to ensure that we harness the enormous potential and experience gained from the making of the first "Two Worlds" project - and make full use of the further technical development of internal Reality Pump tools that has been on-going since the first "Two Worlds" was developed. This new release window gives us enough time to systematically implement both our own requirements and the feedback of the "Two World" fans, enabling us to create a breathtaking RPG experience."

Here's a big set of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 screenshots, the latest incarnation of EA's golf franchise is due in stores at the end of this week. Again there's no PC version though. It's about time Links 386 made a comeback if you ask me.

Kalypso Media and Haemimont Games have today announced a closed beta test of their upcoming banana republic simulator (my words not theirs). Interested parties can use the following beta sign-up link and will be notified via email should they be successful in their application. The beta is due to start on July 13th.

Bohemia Interactive and 505 Games have today released the PC demo for their military simulation ArmA II. Visit www.arma2.com for download links and more details, though at present I can't find any links I'm sure they'll appear shortly.

The fictional post-Soviet state of Chernarus provides the location for all the action in ArmA II and gamers will have the opportunity to explore its highland area in the demo version, along with the small Chernarussian island of Utes. More specifically, the 'boot camp’ missions are all available which act as tutorials for the game’s many disciplines including helicopter flight, unit command and base construction. In addition, the full single player mission 'Trial By Fire’ from the main campaign and the multiplayer map 'Mini Warfare’, allowing ArmA fans the chance to trial three multiplayer modes, are included in the demo. A selection of over 20 vehicles, over 25 weapons and various soldier and civilian models will be included, although these represent only a fraction of those available in the retail version.

"Distilling ArmA II’s gameplay into a trial sized package has been a bit of a challenge because there is just so much in there that we want to show off," commented Mark Allen, European Communications Manager for 505 Games. "In the end we’ve decided to be pretty generous, there are five types of rocket launcher in there for starters!"

Iconic First Person Shooter developer iD software has bee purcahsed ZeniMax Media Inc., the parent company of iconic RPG developer and publisher Bethesda Softworks. Not an announcement I was expecting to see but does seem to make sense for both companies once you think about it a bit more.

Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software, commented on the transaction: "This was a unique opportunity to team with a smart, sophisticated publisher like Bethesda Softworks where the interests of the studio and the publisher will be fully aligned in the development and marketing of our titles. In addition, we will now have financial and business resources to support the future growth of id Software, a huge advantage which will result in more and even better games for our fans."

id Software will continue to operate as a studio under the direction of its founder, John Carmack. No changes will be made in the operations of id Software in the development of its games. All the principals at id Software have signed long-term employment contracts, assuring they will continue in their roles developing games at the studio.

"This puts id Software in a wonderful position going forward," said John Carmack, who will continue to serve in his current role as Technical Director. "We will now be able to grow and extend all of our franchises under one roof, leveraging our capabilities across multiple teams while enabling forward looking research to be done in the service of all of them. We will be bigger and stronger, as we recruit the best talent to help us build the landmark games of the future. As trite as it may be for me to say that I am extremely pleased and excited about this deal, I am."
