Spitfire My Audi TT

My Audi TT
I recently changed jobs & went to a nice little company called AT&T. I do quite a bit of mileage each year so a company car is a must anyway normally the choice of car is limited to a four door.
Not AT&T though peeps the car list had coups in it and with my little girls being 4 & 6 well heh that means I can choose something which has tiny little bench seats & a low roof line.

I thought what car will give me the maximum bang for my buck & not look like your typical company car?
The Audi TT ticked all the check boxes, it looked good, handled well, came well equipped, not thirsty (I went for the 2.0 FSI), Tax efficient with low CO2 emissions.
My only gripe was that the w-anchor at the Audi dealership did not discount a penny I even had to pay for metallic paint!

It's a nice drive with loads of room if it's just me & two little girls but once my Mrs is in the car and both the front seats have to come forward the comfortable journey time diminishes to about an hour.

I am still taking it easy on the car at the moment brakes & to a lesser extent the engine need to bed in, though even at 3- 4 K revs the car feels quick.
The steering is just so sweet and the car feels planted on the road even in these weather conditions. The torment of not being able to run with the migrating flocks of hot hatches as they flock and dart around the county lanes close to where I live is burning me up .
Well hey maybe its God's way of saying "easy boy you have to scrub the shiny rubber down a bit & learn what Derrick (that's what my 4 year old named the car … well its better than Sparkle which my 6 year old was lobbying for!) does when it's close to the edge "

Here are some photo's clicky

Thanks for the comments ( or lack of hair dresser jibes ) Craig your right about the bedding in but its in my nature to be cautious when ramping things up .
Hard call on the two cars you mentioned Shane , the Mondeo has the Vectra beat on everything bar performance on the punchier TD's & V6 petrol engines . I guess its down to which car you prefer driving & what extras come as part of the package.
As for your comment Kev I thought the same thing , the little Fuji camera I used does make my drive look big ! Its not that big mate its the wide angle lens which makes it look large

Our company cars are Seats, nothing flash like this (not that i am on the car pool list, especially after I crashed the company VW), one guy got a A3 then got taken off the list for spending too much money, or so the story goes.

Can you believe its been 3 years since I posted this & the little gem is going back in 3 months ... I would get another one if it where not for the fact my kids cant do more than 30 minutes in the back without complaining . Bloody good car , it handles very economical even after a friend with a laptop had a tinker with it . The chick like it even though its not a very expensive car to buy / lease ... gutted its going really :-(
