Supreme Commander Review
Controlling your robotic army is for the most part simple, despite having so much to do and manage it's all very natural to an experienced RTS gamer - even potentially complex tasks like moving large groups of units 20km via air transport can be accomplished in a number of ways with a little bit of knowledge and a few simple mouse clicks. That's a job you will need a fair bit as some of the maps are immense, even though your commander has twenty metre legs you're not going to want him walking twenty kilometres when he could be doing something much more useful, like building nuclear weapons.

Nice review I loved the beta of this but it slowed my pc down a fair bit even with my 7900 GT, but it was still great fun. Here's a thought - when reviewing a game why not have a profile of the reviews PC specs so when you say "lower spec pc's might have a problem..." people will know exactly what you're comparing those "lower" pc's to ?

Still waiting for my copy to arrive, and (partly) after seeing how demanding this I've ordered an x1950XT which since overclockers have them for £135inc seemed like a bargain and will keep me going until the dx10 cards are cheaper and more useful.

One minor niggle with this game is formations, if you move a large group of units they do seem to space themselves a bit too much! If I'm attacking with 50 units i want it to be 50 not 20 and 30 sitting a 1km or two back having a picnic. Knowing the game though u can probably change that and I just haven't noticed where!

Jammin, select the group of units, hold the RMB where you want them to go.. and while still holding it press the LMB and you'll see it cycle through the formation.

this game is awesome
Just got an 8800GTX so roll on the DX10 patch
but on top graphics setting on 2 screens at monster res on dx9 it looks superb!! I tend to zoom out and play with the icons which makes all the graphics unnescesary.
Good review though i leant a lot here, Ive gone from never playing RTS to playing this game all the time.

Can someone tell me how to use the ferry command on air unit i can only do the one at a time !!

Easiest way to transport units is tell an air transport to guard a factory then hold shift and click the final destination of the air transport, every unit that gets built will automatically get flown across the map.

Ferry works in a similar way, highlight the transporter, click ferry then click the assembly point you'd like, then hold shift and click the required destination. That should elave you with a cross on the floor for the assembly point, you can select loads of units and "move" them onto the assembly point and they'll get transported, you can also set factories to send new units to assmebly points too.

It's a but fiddly with left/right clicks but easy once u figure it out.
