A Koei representative today confirmed for Gamespot that Samurai Slash, a Samurai Warriors spin-off, is headed for the Wii. This is especially good for those of you suffering a withdrawal from sword fighting since finishing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Red Steel.

It's due out later this year.

Few details are known, but the game is played from a first-person perspective and lets players use the Wii Remote to take out rushing opponents with projectile and melee attacks.
