Reuters News are reporting that William Shatner is lending his voice to Star Trek: Legacy, Bethesda Softworks comprehensive Star Trek game. The Star Trek space actioner is due in October.

Shatner, who said he doesn't play video games but has a grandson who is keen to teach him, hopes the medium can keep the "Star Trek" flame burning.
"The interest in 'Star Trek' has waned in the last couple years," Shatner told Reuters in a telephone interview. "It's been around a long time, it's a staple of American life and I think we need something new and different in 'Star Trek.

The sharp ones amongst you may notice that Bethesda Softworks got Patrick Stewart to do voice work in Oblivion and have now got William Shatner for Star Trek: Legacy. It's a funny old world eh?

They are as follows;

• Avery Brooks as Captain Benjamin Lafayette Sisko (Deep Space Nine) –1993-1999
• Kate Mulgrew as Captain Kathryn Janeway (Voyager) – 1995-2001
• Scott Bakula as Captain Jonathan Archer (Enterprise) – 2001-2005
