Counter-Strike Source Changes Coming  by Craig D at 09:42

PC
The latest Steam marketing message is on-line, there's take of a series of updates that focus on moving core gameplay forward, the first of which is a new radar system and there's also a peak at a HDR enabled version of de_train. ETA? About two weeks.

Personally, the only way I'll play it again is if they completely throw out all the maps and start again.

Maybe they'll show bombsites and defuse kits. That'd actually be good.

if you haven't worked out where they are in the last 6 years or so then you shouldn't play at all

"One example: when you look directly at an enemy for a long enough time for their name to appear on your screen, everyone on your team will be able to see that enemy in the radar."

Whats the point in that.. if ur looking at them for long enough then surely you would just kill them

Too late shag, it was calling some guy a prick and a fanboy in the BF2 post, nothing to do with the game but more to do with the guy not understanding the use of a question mark

I know full well grant but if you think a bombsite on the radar for people who haven't played it before is a bad idea then you're wrong. It saved those games ending with one crap player rumnning around not knowing where the bombs been planted. Also, the enmy showing up on radar is quite a good idea too, if you're ina long fire fight with someone, it'll be quite nice to have a helping hand from one of your team mates. And no I don't like CSS, but these are actually good non game breaking ideas I've heard so far..

Right so it instantly loses alot of its tactical apeal, no longer can you do a decoy plant in a bombspot as it will show up in on a radar, no longer does a lone man vs a team have a chance cos it just takes one man to see him and he is on the radar. No i am afraid these are even worse changed designed for the new player. Not that i give aflying **** i dont play it.

It all depends on how it's done. I agree if the enemy is shown on the radar for to too long then it'll break the game. But who knows, like we're going to play it and find out

I liked the CoD2 hud, where it show your position when you fire.

Any change they make would be for the worse because people see the worse over the bad. It's what all the CS community is like. They don't care about any advantages it gives, only the disadvantages. Gives them something else to whine about.

imo.. the less crap on the radar the better. if they start putting enemies and bomb sites on radar people are going to get confused and think there is a friendly round a corner when really it is a whole team of terrorists planting at a bomb site.
i like the radar how it is now..

I never liked the radar from the day they added it. I doubt real Counter-Terrorist teams have one tbh.
