New details of Nintendo's Wii controller  by James B at 11:51

Nintendo
Wii Gamespot have details of some of the uses of Nintendo's Wii controller after reading the latest issue of Time magazine, in which technology correspondent Lev Grossman was shown hands-on, by Shigeru Miyamoto himself, the console and some games. Most exciting are reports of using the controller for sword-fighting in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and an as yet untitled tennis game. If Nintendo can pull this off, this could be a real gaming treat.

First, Grossman described using the Wii playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. "Now I'm Errol Flynn, sword fighting with the controller, then aiming a bow and arrow, then using it as a fishing rod, reeling in a stubborn virtual fish," he said. While Nintendo confirmed the much-anticipated GameCube title would have some Wii functionality, this is the first official description of what said functionality is.

Can you imagine playing a starwars game and using that controller as a light saber, although it has to be said it might be a tad active for most gamers

Thats why Im interested in it Stan, I want to get fit/exercise etc but its effort going to the gym or renting a tennis court or joining a club etc. This way you can do something enjoyable and get some exercise in your own room. Anyone used a GameTrak? Ive played real world golf on that and its great fun, seems like this is a much more advanced system based on the same principles. :]
