BT to cut Broadband prices ?  by Shane L at 09:02

BT Well this can only be good news if true, as I have recently switched from NTL to BT (regrettably) I have noticed BT adsl is not as good as NTL, and a drop in price may mean I could upgrade to 1mb for around the £30 a month mark, who knows ?

According to research from Enders Analysis BT is rapidly losing broadband customers to rivals such as Wanadoo and Tiscali, it has led to speculation that BT could announce price drops imminently.

**Update**
People at BT work fast, Price drop confirmed, read it here

**Update2**
BT's Broadband antics are again in the news today, it's seems a complaint against BT for misleading advertising has been upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority.

BT had claimed it's offering was £8 a month cheaper than rivals Telewest Blueyonder, but neglected to mention that you need a BT line for which you must pay line rental, also that you needed to buy your adsl modem and finally that it's service had a data allowance limit, unlike it's cable company rival.

I think bandwidth caps are a good idea tbh, but only if the cap is high so that only heavy downloaders get effected. That way there is less chance of the net being slow generally, less chance of ping spikes for gamers etc. Though it does depend on the network, BY have a phat network so its less likely to be an issue for me i think.
