Good 'source' of revenue for Valve. Especially as u can get banned for cvars that some people use with low spec machines to get extra fps. I know there's configs out there for people with low spec machines to increase fps, and at least two of the commands are in the list of bannable commands from Valve. I'm all against banning cheats, but they gotta be carefull here. It's a big jb but you need someone to oversee each ban, otherwise there's gonna be a lot of wrongly convicted players.

Totally agree, Scraps. Last time I looked at the Source forums, there were loads of people complaining about being banned "unfairly". Now most of them were scallys who deserved it...but the way the Valve moderators were reacting was pretty shocking - basically that Valve were never wrong and anyone who's complaining is a dirty cheater.

I don't know much about how to go about cheating, but if it can be achieved by pissing around with a config, it sounds like a dangerous business to go about life-banning people when they have no good way to appeal.

yea it is a bit stupid but it will finally get rid of them nasty ppl wit speed hax & aimbots on publics them poor people (me) wit crap machines will be paying out more for a new game as well as a new comp it aint fair!

Yes it does seem like another way of getting more cash from people, concerning the CVARs, afterall if they dont want people to use them they should just remove them, like they have done with certain other cvars.

Knowing Valve, once VAC2 goes live, everyone will be banned from all steam games.
