Was just thinking how much I irrationally detest iTunes, it's DRM infested shit imho. And this question popped into my head....

What would people consider to be the most over-rated piece of Software currently in use?

Rules would be that most people would have to actually seem to like the said application otherwise it wouldn't be overrated would it? So you can't add Windows as most of us think it sucks. Get it?

iTunes - one of the most restrictive media players in existence that quite frankly offers little over and above any of it's competitors.

I dunno, I quite like i-tunes.. I use it more than WMP etc for playing mp3's. I like the interface and the album search by cover art etc. The DRM stuff is easily removed *cough* Besides, it's needed for my ipod touch and i'm in love with that right now. I think Itunes is very good at what it's made to do, you pop in a cd and can walk away knowing your tracks will be converted, cover art downloaded, and transfered to your ipod without having to do anything further.

Yes there are other programs that can do this now, but I still use itunes in it's 'mini' player view instead of the full window when i want to listen to music while working etc.

Gah!! Don't defend Tunes from me, slag something else off!! ;-)

I would but I can't think of anything so I thought i'd do a combined effort of A) making you rage more, B) making you not look so lonely with no replies, C) Defending Itunes from the evilness of you and D) giving me more time to think of something to slag off

I love Itunes and the simplicity it offers. Give me itunes over wmp any day.

I cant stand the emoticin cr@p, I have lost count of the amount of times people have sent me :..) or some other random thing, only to have them explane that it was a picture of a dog humping a rabbit. and it full of ad-ware,

and has anyone ever used that drawing thing to do anything other then draw pictures of cocks to you friends? there are better chat programs, and msn was better before they tarted it up, imo.

Most over rated software ... I would say ... Halo 2 , or maybe Vista . I like Vista but its definitely over rated .
