So, the BBC crew all all well pro Heksey again, got to say I still disagree. Yes he did a decent job vs Isreal and was ok vs Russia but he still can't score to save his life. Still has trouble staying on his feet too. I'd like to see a fit Dean Ashton in that role with Michael Owen.
Gareth Barry is well deserving of more games in that position though, I'd also bring back Beckham in place of SWP. Shaun can't cross a ball tbh, great performance otherwise but it's a killer for a winger if you can beat the first man with your crosses.

I agree: if we have Micah bombing around on the right we don't need SWP too, but rather a quality crosser like Becks. Agreed, Barry should keep his spot with Gerrard for now, the two seem be bossing midfield.
As for strikers, it's the same old England - we have one international star in Owen, and a bunch of amateur fools to support him:
Hesky - not convinced, works 200% and is good for Owen but we need someone who can score not just set up stuff Crouch - impact sub material Defoe - lol.. Johnson - journeyman, club player Smith - crap since after Leeds Rooney - never delivers at international level

Rooney does deliver at times but I don;t tink he can play with Own effectively. Own needs to be playing with a big man, My Vote goes to Ashton.

Get Ferdinand upfront ha! No really tbh i was watching half the game on the worst reception TV in my life, until I was informed that the TV Arial needs to be turned on via a plug in my conservatory(?!) So i can't really review the game that well Saw the last 30 mins crystal though, and a few replays obviously.

heskey doin ok - i like when he plays with Owen - Rooney does do will for England just un lucky pickin up his injuries at vital times.
as said below crouch is great for subbing with a great scoring record as for dean ashton no thanks.
SWP swap for beckham Barry doing great for england - I hate frank Lampard Richards - Good filler for Neville, but Nev will get his place back as auto pick as hes tried and tested and can defo cross a ball. Defoe - lol, seriously no smith - i defo keep on any bench

Controversial, I know, but I'd stick with Heskey. He seems to finally be using his physical attributes rather than falling on his arse every five minutes, won virtually everything in the air and seemed to have a radar pinpointing Michael Owen's exact position at all times. Rooney misses out as far as I'm concerned; the team performance is so much more important than the individuals.
I'd also keep Richards and Barry who have looked commanding in their respective positions. I was less convinced about SWP, his crossing last night was dire. He's a different kind of player to Beckham though so it really depends on the gameplan as to who plays there.
