So what are your fav game devs guys? You don't have to choose one. Give a reason for it too of course

Mine are:

Capcaom
Square Enix
Clover

Capcom because they made the best beat 'em up ever. They also have made some of the best and stylish games ever made. Street Fighter, Resident Evil/2/4, Viewtiful joe, Killer 7, Lost Planet and Dead Rising. They also gave birth to Clover.

Clover because they've made one of the most stylish and original games I've ever played - Okami. Best Art direction I've ever seen, it feels like you're in a painting not a cartoon.

Square because they made the best game I've ever played. FFVII... best story, characters and gameplay. I won't go into it, we've all heard it before from someone you know.

Please, this is a thread to slag off other people. Just post what you like. Remember you're allowed more then one dev so state everything!

I'm a bit of a Relic fanboy, I get the feeling that they truly understand what they are trying to create. I guess their games always make sense to me at least.

iD for Wolf 3d, Doom and Quake, all truly moved the industry forward, on my list purely from a technology point of view in later years, and area where they still impress and innovate.

Valve, makers of the best single player PFS games ever with the Half-life series, these guys know how to create characters and tell stories with them.

Sensible Software - Makers of Sensible Soccer (on the amiga 1st of course as all the other versions were pale immitations) then the awesomely good fun Cannon Fodder amongst other things.

I forgot to mention Nintendo too. Zelda is nothing short of genius.

Nintendo, for everything obvious.

Konami for Silent Hill, MGS, Castlevania, Pro Evo i guess. I don't like any of those separately to fanboy levels, but as a portfolio it's pretty good.

Konami and Capcom made some stunning games in the 80's aswell.

Uridium looked gorgeous for the year it was made (i think it was a capcom game)

Konami and capcom allways had the best arcade games aswell.

Gauntlet, green beret ect.

also battle isle was a great game on the amiga aswell.

Mal I just dont understand your love of the nintendo, they never made any groundbreaking games or anything. Say nintendo and people think mario.

Not really, name 1 good game on the nintendo? Im sure i could name 10 PS/xbox games to every one (decent)nintendo game

Lets see every single zelda game, Resident evil 4, any of the original mario games. Hell there are dozens upon dozens of games that rock, infact the first final fantasy games were on nintendo. In no way shape or form are nintendo childish only games, sure they make some child like games but they make far more adult games. Its obvious you aint played many nintendo games shane, we could list dozens but as you aint actually played any of them. It wont change your opinion on it, so i aint going to waste my breath going threw the long list of fantastic games, or even games that changed the way we game today.

Well when you actually talk sense you might get a good reply. Nintendo changed how games were made. They were in it from the start and there's so many influential games on the early and current Nintendo systems.

Whether you like the games or not is another story. You cannot deny how influential they all were.

lol. There's been loads in the last 10 years too, much more than the re-hashed EA crap that is released on the ps2 constantly.

The N64 was in your 10 year bracket so games like Mario 64 (the only decent 3d platformer imo) all count.

As you've shown, you've never even played Zelda because you said you 'heard' it was overrated. Obviously you didn't read any of the reviews etc which all loved it.

I'd hardly say all these 10/10 scores are for an overrated game, would you ?

The n64 probably has 3 of the best 5 games ever made on it, goldeneye, zelda and mario 64. That wasnt over 10 years ago.

Im not going to get into a childish catfight over which dev is best, I only asked what all the fuss was over nintendo. Some of the remarks i got are what id expect tbh.

seph is always right Ive hardly ever spoken to the chap maybe only a handfull of times but hes hardly ever wrong
