Post thoughts on the game here!
Another generally poor performance sadly. too slow and casual, not enough urgency first half. 3-4 chances in front of goal not taken.
However the subs made today were generally good (though I don't think Rooney contributed much). After the subs we had a much ebtter shape and were generally in control. The goals that came were very good: Crouch was working hard all game and deserved to make up for his flop earlier, great delivery from Becks. Gerrard's goal was...well his best since the last one he put past Hislop!
Shaky and we had to work way too hard to win, but in the end we deserved to. However much we didn't do with the ball we generally controlled the game for the full 90mins. Missing 5-6 chances in front of goal (poor Lampard missed a few) we deserved one.
So a deserved win, but a poor one imo - the level of play needs to pick up or we won't win the WC.

unimpressive win that. with all their potential they're not really living up to it.

I was just happy with Gerrard, had £1 bet 8/1 on him to score outside box, he did. then with winnings i bet on Sweden. £15 in the bag for one night booyah!
We should have played better though, its a bit of a joke still.

yeh gotta agree fairly poor perfomance, altho on a positve note we did create the chances just had no one to finish it was a hard game to play t&t had every intention of playing for a draw from the start. Glad to see rooney play even tho its was only for 35 mins he seems to lift the team just with him on the pitch, Crouch what can i say he run his blood to water eventualy grabbing a goal, when he settles he wont be missing the chances he missed against t&t, owen lacked the servace there was some good spells from him im sure he's going to hit a run of form sooner on later. The midfeild was awsome but still room for improvement, glad stevie at least got one on target he's still got a lot to proove at int lvl but sure he's going to be a worldbeater. Terry wtf was that guy on not seen a defender so good in years tbh. Overall we got 6 points from 2 games, how many times have we had that in a major competiton?.We witnessed some positive substitution by sven for god knows how many games. Its all still good im sure we havent seen there best yet. Keep the faith

Lampard was awful and badly missed so many chances. He should be miss the next game by default. Still can't blame him for the teams poor perfomance. Was nice to see them try harder when Rooney came on though. Shame they can't try hard for the whole game.

We have 11 world class players and one very very average team.
Lampard and gerrard can not play together, playing gerrard in the position he plays your taking away 75% of his game.
sooner that swede ****er goes the better imo, average team, that MAY get to the quarters at best.

i agree shane, if he insists on playing them both on the field then he should swap their positions

I've got a feeling things are going to get better as we go. I don't think experimenting against the lower classed teams is such a bad idea. We got the wins, that's all that counts.
