What you guys think about the Blanket ban heading our way next year in pubs and clubs?
It may put me out of a job if everyone starts drinking at home

Its fantastic, i can come home and not smell of smoke (i dont smoke BTW)

we have it in our local and the trade didn't drop that much, and i dear say the ppl that did leave whent to the pub across the road.

we have one no smoking pub in Peterborough called the Drapers - its a weatherspoons pub and can easily afford to take a cut into their profits - Im glad where I work its part of a company which is funded via a charitable organisation - Ill be gutted when the smaller pubs will be forced to close though due to a decrease in customers I dont drink much - but i do drink well

I think not smoking in pubs is great. I imagine they can still smoke outside though? Beer garden anyone?

Anyway if u cant smoke ANYWHERE then people will still go. Just not smoke.

I also hate the fact that if u go out u expect to come home smelling of smoke. That just ain't cool, especially since i dont like smoking.

Can't smoke anywhere enclosed and public here.
Can smoke in a beer garden. YOu tend to find lots of people outside pub entrances smoking. But then again not as many people smoke out here, partly because of the smoking ban.

I remember going to a bar In LA late one night was standing in what i thought was a dormant Que for ages - only for me to realise through my beer googles that I had actually joined about 40+ smokers out side a bar having a Fag

If Ireland have managed so far and Scotland starting their Ban real soon it was always going to happen and im gald it has - Although I choose to work in a smoke environment I hate get home and in the morning you pick upa T-shirt or other itme of clothes fomr the night before and it just plain stinks Ughh!!

I think the smoking ban's a great initiative. Wouldn't mind it here in Belgium.

i dont smoke but it has never bothered me.

might i just ask one question of all this.

if lots of ppl stop smoking like every1 wants then where exactly is the government gonna recoup all the tax money they will lose from smokers?
