Belatedly id like to say RIP to the poor guy. But more importantly for me and my 2 lads I have 3 tickets for the MUFC v WBA cup match tomorrow night, it will be man utd's first home game since Besty died so it could turn out to be a bit of an occasion, first trip to Old Trafford for my lads, the minutes silence and to view all the messages that have been left and most importantly I will be celebrating a baggies victory!!! Boing boing Im taking a digi camera hopefully and if so ill blog it all.

you might think im a git but i feel nothing for the guy
ok he was a great footballer yes but he has been a drunken waster for all my lifetime. He nearly died a while back and had his liver replaced at the cost of someone elses life and what did he do but carry on drinking till he did that liver in too. I dont htink that the other person who COULD of got that liver would of been so wasteful. my mum nearly died because of lack of liver donars due to alcoholics taking them all for free on the national health when a lot of them including Best could of afforded their own.

i agree with Sent, he wasted his 2nd chance at life, which is more than most ppl get. I'ts never good when someone dies but this ain't a tragedy.

I agree, he was a footballer once, a long time ago. Most have forgotten, and I choose to forget that he once was good, when he has thrown so much away.

he was an alcoholic to me, not a footballer. People who are alcoholics and say they want to quit don't go back in the pub the week after they get a new liver. they avoid places like pubs because they are serious about rehab.
Best ****ed up his life and ****ed someone else over too when he got special priority for a new liver. Oh and he was a wife beater.
Hundreds of truly great people die every day, i won't waste any time mourning Gerorge Best, sorry,

Difficult one this. To be honest If people were put in the situation he was put in I think a lot of us would turn out a bit messed up. He was the first ever superstar footballer, he had a crazy lifestyle women chased/stalked him everywhere. Its not an excuse, he said himself no one else was to blame for what happened to him other than himself. I respected the guys footballing talents, he was truely something special in footballing terms. But like others have said I lost all sympathy for him as soon as he started drinking after having the second liver. He got a chance most people never do and he blew it, such a shame tbh.
