Quite a good idea, but it bugs me M$ have to make profit on everything they do, why cant the add content like this for free or at least make the games people make playable for free. Much like the arcade stuff this should be free additional content to try to encourage people to buy a 360 and reward loyalty for those who have forked out £300+ for one.

But if you look at it from the point of view of budding developers, it gives them an easy mass market platform to release their games on, and maybe even make money from their hobbies.

Who knows, there could be some way more original games on that then there are by big games developers, and with financial aid through selling their ideas they could even grow in size.

It's an interesting idea either way.

Yes it is a good thing

But there would be a bigger market if thay gave the games away for free, i cant see that many people paying $99 to play homebrew games, they have never tested.

I would be mush better to make the devs pay $99 to use the live function for mass distrabution and let the people who have payed for gold live get the games for free (maybe even an optinal small charge if they like the game to get the devs some loot )

letting dev create dvd iso's would be a good idea too, if they could make it secure, so terrorists did not exploit it to make copies of full games. they then could allow you to be downloaded over the net/ torents.
