I noticed Felon posted the trailer for Serenity.
I dont know if he or anyone else knows but Serenity is the continuation of the FireFly story. FireFly was a TV show cancelled by Fox after 15 episodes, it was amazing and well worth a download tbh.
Anyone else seen it?

Heard about Firefly, never seen it though. Serenity looks like it may be a good film though.

Was 13 episodes I think, half a season. I think thye canned it in order to make the movie, the movie is more of a re-telling than a continuation too.

Its 14 episodes , i said 15 cos i got a special features episode thingy which means I got 15 files in my Firefly folder. I think the film could probably be a re-telling or a continuation. But River, the girl that kicks ass in the trailer, seems to have developed a lot more since the TV series. Its a great series there, has a great blend of humour and action. Well worth a watch.

I've got the firefly series on DVD, I remember when it was on tv and I didnt really get it. Watching it from the start its actually quite good, each episode is very different. It's a shame the series got cancelled (*points at FOX*), apparently the director (from Buffy/Angel fame) had to battle to get this film off the ground. Hopefully its successful as I wouldnt mind seeing another season.

She develops a lot through the series, remember the episode when they were stealing medical supplies, she shoots several people as if she was robocop I was suprised at the trailer but you could see she was heading down that super-human route.

Aye she's more or less a vegetable to start with, but towards the end of the series she's doing and saying a lot more.

Yeh I meant more psychologically, because of the way her brain was messed with she cant filter out fear. She was always affraid and hesitant, she didnt really want to hurt anyone. In the trailer she seemed to be taking on quite a few men in hand to hand combat effortlessly. Hurting them a lot in the process, seems like shes able to deal with the fear. Like you say it was kinda obvious that was gonna happen, but I wonder how shes able to deal with it now.

I think they change a few thngs in the film - but it more about what the feds did to the little girl. so there is a bit of recap to get ppl who did'nt see fire fly up to speed.

We'll only see what happens after ep14 if they start making the series again unfortunatly. The film covers similar ground as the early episodes in the series but thats not such a bad thing as it goes into much more detail than we saw in the series.

i'm not sure but i'm guessing they won't bring it back . I wonder if it was to do with the fact that prostitutes held such a high place in society that was a problem, i can't see too many ppl likeing their children to aspire to b prozzies!

Think it simply wasnt popular enough, maybe they just didnt advertise it very well as I wouldnt have seen the series if a work colleague hadnt of pointed it out. I think its also one of those series' that you really need to see from the start otherwise you just dont .. get it.
