Interesting wee article I spotted on theInq talks about heat issues with the Xbox 360, maybe this is the cause of the machines issues?

i changed mine 3 times now with a different issue each time and that was in the space of a month, haven't changed it since because i've not turned it on so is probably fooked again. hate the thing

Hmm it does get warm I guess it depends on where you store it, mine is in a well ventilated area. Try not to box it in or cover it with anything, the more air gets too it the better imo.

mine was very well ventilated ryan, no matter what you do to it, its still the biggest pile of shit created. console wise anyway, wouldnt recommend one to anyone and literally felt like i lost the money i spent to buy the shit bit of kit, would of had more fun burning it.

Not had any problems with mine really, get the odd error when turning it on but very rarely. And its nothing a quick restart doesnt solve. I think people can just be really unlucky, and probably lucky aswell.

They do get very hot though, think i read something about testing the old and the new "error free" 360s temps. Think they both hit close to 80 degrees between the heatsink and the gpu or something similar.

Needless to say ventilation is key, I have one of them noisy but helpfull fan attachments to help keep the temperature down aswell, and anyone that puts it on a carpet is an idiot and will probably get what they deserve.
