Hi All

Have alittle problem with patching
i have no problem installing patches 1.01 & 1.02 but when i go to install 1.03 it says patching failed but if i reinstall the same patch it installs fine the 2nd time round but BF2 wont load.
so i un-install BF2 reinstall and try again then it fails on one of the other patches?

try disabling norton if you have it, some people have trouble with that finding faults in the patch and hiding files when they're trying to be installed.

also make sure you have anough hdd space, a couple of the guys had problems with that

I will try that later but i dont think thats the problem as ive had norton enabled before and it has installed ok but i will give it ago

as for hard drive space i still have 48GIG left so thats not the problem

evening chaps - just a quick question about BF2 - we have 3 copies of Sf and Bf2 in our household - 2 work Pucker but the other on my little bro's is coming up with ther same problem over and over..

Everytime he tries to join a server it comes up witth a msg that he is running an old version - I knw for a fact he has the latest patch on there and did the usual re install after - Installin Sf - to no avail
Also ttried the start all over re-install and redownload of patches - the poor chap isnt a happy bunny..

After googling his problem all sorts of randomstuff came up - was wondering any one have the same sort of problem here ?? - I was thinkin along the lines that maybe his PunkBuster or something isnt updating properly - and im pretty sure his version number is the same as my own on the Server list screen (top Left corner)

Any response you know is greatly appreciated

did you install 1.12 after installing SF??


Note To All: you install the patches from Retail >> 1.02 >> 1.03 >> (Special Forces) >> 1.12

I've read before that there's a driver checker in bf2 that says this error if you are using outdated drivers for your graphics card too, worth a check anyway.

just a quick question for which any sort of answer would be appreciated ..

after finaly getting my little bro's copy of BF2 on the go - after mucho help with with patching (ty maz and mid - i think) He has now encountered a new problem - When on multiplay servers this error comes up after getting booted - md5tool mismatch bf2.exe (len=2048)

After googling this problem all i seem to come across is forums talkin about no cd patches and cloned games - I know a simple solution would be for him not to go on Multiplay servers and stick To EA ones - from which he has had no problem playing - but was asking just incase it is a fixable solution

if its a no cd error he could use a mini play image... i have one that i use and i havent had any server problems

Yes i use the same image as Maz (as he gave them to me and hav had no errors), is he using a no CD/ his own key code?

its strange how he can get on EA servers but not Multiplay, i thorght they were the same thing? if no they both should have the asme servers running.

hes using a 100% real game not quite sure what the problem is -

I kinda feel for the lumpy fella he keeps running into problems with his game and ive told him to try re installing it for like the 100th

The problem seams to be Punkbuster related, Theres a whole string about this here

does he have any clone/scsi drives in his PC? and does he have the most uptodate gamespy?
