oook, so i want to get 1gb of ram to put in my new PC, but also to go in this one for a while til i can afford. Because basically i cant take BF2 in its current state. My PC is quite old, but i want a semi decent one for my new one. Can i put a decent one into this and basically it will run it to the best of its abilities?

I remember Mani saying having more than 1GB of unregistered RAM is virtually pointless?

Depends.
It's deffinatley a little slower than 1gb for access times and makes things harder to overclock. But if you have an application that uses lots of ram, then it's just about worth it. RAM is cheap at the minute, so 2gb might not be a bad idea.

Anyway, back to the point.
That old mobo should be ok with ddr-400 in it.

well i have 1GB at the minute, just upgraded from half a gig, but i needed it so CoD would load faster when i open it but it is just as slow as before, so im starting to think that either this RAM i bought was a waste of money or theres something wrong with my pc because everything i try doesnt help.

old post but didnt want to start a new called memory - I am stuck in mind deciding if i should order 2 gig of ram Corsair cas 2 from over clockers ram - at a pretty price of £172 - I currently run 2x 512 cas 2 corsairs and have a third space available for another memory slot. My little bro runs three sticks of RAM and it seems to run fine - My question is: should i just buy a single stick of 1G ram @ £105 after P+P and get 2 G that way Or should I sell my 2 512's and buy two 1G strips at £172 Will there be a noticable difference between running 2 or 3 sticks all at the same latency? Also If majority says buy the 2G in 2 Strips anyone want to buy the RAM I have - was thinking in the lines of about £70 with free P+P
