Re0 that was complete bullshit, people use firefox because it's standards compliant, easy to use and about 5000% more secure that IE, it's that simple. Once you become an experienced web developer, you'll hate IE just like the rest of us

Yes I did say " ersonal choise" as a back up for my legit claim, I don't think using FF coz its standard compliant is a good argument coz 99.9999% of web uses dont give a monkeys, if a site I go on does not work with IE I just think "lazy developers" and move to one the other 100 or so sites offering the same content. You need to stop comparing IE6 with FireFox coz IE6 is, as you said, xxx years old, and yes it was shat, but get with the now, I could make claims about Netscape and how bad that was but that's dead now and FF has taken its place. Dont get me wrong Firefox is ok, Im not 100% anti-mozila but some of the anti-IE arguments are just daft.

I give up, if you don't think standards compliance is important then you'll never work for a big web agency, they just won't hire you, FULL STOP.
IE7 is the least standards compliant browser of the main 4, IE/FF/Opera/Safari. All our sites are standards complaint and fully tested in all 4, we never have to hack anything to make it work in either FF or Opera. But ALWAYS have to change something or add some bizarre code to make things work in IE.
As far as saying get with the now, it was only a few months ago we've had similar discussions and you were arguing how IE6 was better than Firefox, and to be quite honest, most ppl who use IE still use 6 (about 70% of IE users on this site use 6).
IE7 is much better of course, but Firefox 2 is better than it in just about every way.

Errr, no issues with plug-ins here... though it's best not to clutter it, all the plug-ins can make its startup rather sluggish.

I've got FF version 1.5.0.8, won't automatically update to version 2. Is version 2 any better?

I use IE6 as 7 is rubbish and there are a lot of things that dont work with it. FF is pointless as you have to have IE so why have 2, that just stupid.
go on flame and microsoft bash ..

go on flame and microsoft bash .. The award for silliest post of 2006 goes to SENT, right there I think, if you read all the above you'll realise there's a rather big point in it... a very sharp armour piercing point.
