Lads I am looking for a new mouse , I already have a Logitech MX500 which I really like & it is going to my Back-up PC & I am tempted by the G5 as I have read many good things about it . I am open to suggestions but the neuron extension must have the following :
Decent weight - I don't like light mice ( my recently deceased MS Intelimouse is as light as I want to go )
7 buttons - I can just about get away with 5 buttons but the more the merrier.
Cord - I still don't trust wireless , the G7 is supposed to be cool but the thought of chucking the mouse in a couple of years because I cant get the batteries does not appeal on a £50+ rodent & I would hate to have the battery go in Mid battle . I thought about the Razer Copperhead but a few reviews recon the G5 has better pads & glides more smoothly , also that the snake is smaller which means is not so comfy. Any thoughts guys or good reasons not to go G5?

mate, g5 review coming soon, it's seriously good with only a few minor flaws.

If u want wireless, the g7 only gets minus points for poor battery life in most reviews.

See the G series mice have tilting mouse wheels which I hope will be programmable thus compensating for the button deficit on the side & in the case of the MX500 top button (the MX500 has three programmable buttons up top as well as the two side buttons). Mani dude can the tilting mouse wheel be programmed if so then I will go ahead with the G5. if not then the Razer may have to come to the fore. I used to get away with 5 buttons until BF2 & all of a sudden the intellimouse started to feel handicapped when compared to the MX500. BTW guys I appreciate the MX5xx series mice are great but me thinks its time to go next gen i.e. laser if only because I dont buy mice very often.
Shags I saw the deal on the MX518 & it was very very tempting...

i had a mx1000 it was a utter piece of crap and didnt compare to a wireled mouse in the slightest. You put a mx518 next to a mx1000 and its like vhs vs dvd.
DO NOT TOUCH THE MX1000 IF U R A GAMER
