I was playing 2142 for a while last night with Path, Verp and Re0 also play. Stan has bought it not too tbh. Think I might have to sort some comms out again.

The demo for 2142 really put me off, your going to have to sell it to me!

Tell me about it mate, the demo is why I put off buying the game for so long. However this is the game mani and the lads play and thats what its about at the end of the day playing with your mates. So at 17 quid I ordered it and took a chance !

Ok well its turned up today mate but after spending 9 hours last night ****ing about trying to get windows to install on my old p4 without blue screening, I just dont have the energy to play it right now.

So far I am so I really aint impressed, once again Dice think no one owns a widescreen display or even a tft. I would say these days at least 80 percent of pc users own a tft screen, so not supporting a tft res is just plain ****ing stupid. Next problem I own a xfi but it says if i select xfi in the audio menu I will get no sound.
This game has been out for ages and has patch's but it still feels like a ****ING BETA.
Come on Dice pull your ****ing finger out.

Well re0 gets the same thing as me for the xfi so clearly it doesnt work great for everyone.
I put the custom res in the config file which is what you done for the old bf2 and as before it just crashed me to the desktop.
I will try using the shortcut instead for the res and let you know how that works.
But lets be honest most pc users aint going to change a config file or a short cut or anything, so its still ****ing retarded not to support one of the most standard res's straight out of the box or even with several patchs.

And check for the OpenAL patch for the X-fi, that might be your problem.

Ok just had a quick blast of it on my lan and while I still dont think it looks quite as good as bf2, its more fun and responsive than I thought it would be. Very good fun indeed, just wish they could support res's from the menu for the vast majority of users.

Ok so first off I do have a killer migrain so in my defence it aint my fault !
I just realised I had my xfi set to music/movie mode not game mode, I have set it to game mode now and it doesnt give me the error msg, so I will hopefully get sound ingame, I bet this is re0s problem as well.

oh and as for screen res i have higher res than 1600x1200, I have mine set to 1920x1440 but i goes upto 2048x1536, still no WS res but better then nothing i guess

1920*1440 is an odd res? What monitor you got?
