now the ps3 and 360 have the capability to use kb and mouse and UT3 is nearly here Ims till trying to get my head around how it would all work.

sure the ps3 has the graphics capability etc.. but how does it all work ? I mean how can you use a keyboard and mouse on a massive TV.

Ive tried putting my HD TV on my pc desk but its huge and im sat too close to see it all so that doesnt work.
If i try it on the sofa with the TV in its usual position what do i do with the mouse ? again this doesnt work.
Ive tried many different set ups to get a workign console KB mouse setup and all but the strangest one failed.

the only way it was even possible was to have my PC desk in the front room infornt of the sofa and the TV in its usual place on the wall over the fireplace.
this takes over the whole room and really isnt practivle with wires all over the place.

ok you could just replace your PC base with a ps3 and use a normal PC screen but then whats thepoint of that you might as well use the PC its more powerful and does more.

has anyone actually done this yet ?

isnt its an unwritten law that you cant FPS game properly on a console.

You just adjust to your surroundings, I have a 30" TFT for my PC and it was strange at first, and playing BF was manic but now I cant remember what it was like with out it, granted a 42" may be abit too big, but i thought that about mine at first.

The thing i would find strange is the probable loss of the social side of things, as you cant play split screen or lay on the sofa with friends and a beer.

thats all i use my console for, PC when im alone and consoel for when m8s come round ..

As for using a keyboard and mouse its all about your setup, I have a lazy boy chair and over top of that a desk with my pc keyboard and tft on, I could easly use a console keyboard and mouse on this desk, it would be spot on. Infact let me put a link of what I mean.
This is the desk that goes over my chair as you can see it would work perfectly for a 360 keyboard and mouse, there is something about playing games in Hi def on a 43 inch screen in proper dolby digital sound.
Just wall mount your screen and make sure you are far enough away that it doesnt destroy your eyes.

thats pretty much how i had it but the wiring for it was too much to have it like that all the time, this is in my front room i cant dominate it like that and still get head

Most of the stuff can be wireless though, although **** gaming on wireless connections etc
Most of the video cables and stuff could be put under the carpet and all sorts of stuff, or even through the ceiling into the attic or what ever.
Also I thought you had all your kit in your own apartment and not with in the flat where your mrs lives, so I cant see how this effect how much head you get. As you said thats where you go to get away from her.

its true it is im my own apartment the missus and kids are in a house half a mile away.

Its just not feasable for most people to have a room like that. most people with a plasma have it as the TV in the front room.

Its a Samsung few years old (not Hd) but for £400 with a wall brackett thrown in im happy enough. does everything i need and the PIP on it is sweet - so i can no play poker on the big screen and have something goin on right next to it or in the corner.

Well I read alot of reviews that said it was the best hd-dvd player you can get, but honestly thats a complete load of shit.
The sound is utter shit, flat with no imaging, and just very weak in every area.
The image via the vga cable is a fking joke, constant screen tearing with very little detail, switching to component video cable gets rid of the screen tearing and adds more detail, but it still aint impressive even for 130 quid. When I say that my normal dvd player gives me a better image in some areas and nearly as good in the others, that says alot as my dvd player aint even upscaling the dvds. Ok it is a £700 dvd player, but still a hd-dvd player should beat it, the 360 hd-dvd drive is so bad I have only used it a few times.

as all blue ray disc's have to authorised by SONY i wont be doing that in a hurry. I want high def porn and voilence not namby pamby jap and US crap.
or at least to have the option to do that, making a whole format that is censored just a joke.
