Sadly BF2 is kinda dead in the water these days. Well it's still played by thousands, but the potential of the game has really trailed off from what it was.

The only thing you need to buy is Battlefield 2 itself. Special Forces is just a booster pack that adds a few new weapons and maps. It's not needed unless you want to play on Special Forces Servers. Most people seem to play normal Battlefield 2 anyway so you won't have trouble finding servers at all.

BF 2142 is a completely new stand-alone game and not a mod. I say new but in principle they are just repackaging BF2 with sci-fi textures. It's not out yet but a lot of people around here don't seem too keen on buying it.

Barely any of us play BF2 at the moment aswell. We're all kinda waiting for something new and better to come out.

I play it Jobbie but Malis is right in that there are a lot of empty servers out there ATM . There are some nice mods comming through right now so it is still worth a punt if the game is cheap and a few of us that play the game of an evening.

jobbie if youre goin to buy it you may aswell buy the bf2\sf pack its only £35 and has you covered for all gun unlocks and levels -

Xbox 360 and nothing really. We're all waiting for Quake Wars etc to replace bf2.

Mostly single-player PC games at the moment. Put simply there isn't (imo) a team-based PC game worth playing at a competetive level at the moment.

I still play bf2 when I have time Jobbs

dito to Mani - I play when i get the chance - which with changing circumstances for myslef which include moving houses and Jobs - ive just not had the time After i ranked up both Accounts i sort of laid it to rest - knowing that these guys are not playin as much either


Still a enjoyable game tho and worth having in any Pc gamers collection
