Haven't played BF2 in ages but i fancied a go today, so i downloaded the latest full patch, 1.3 400MB odd, and installed that. Go to join a server and it keeps saying cannot connect to server, check network settings or something. Any ideas? Never had this problem with BF2 a few months ago and all i've done different is install this new patch.
Also, my BF2 says it's version 1.1.2... something or other but i have installed the 1.3 patch, so is it actually installed?

Yes in game version don;t match so it probably is.
Check firewalls etc?
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Checked my firewalls, etc. Don't need to open any ports do i? Never had to before.

you have to open some ports for gamespy, [you can find the port list on the eagames tech support area]
Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.

Allowed the ports, but now i get a network corruption data error or something. Gonna try re-installing BF2.

Re-installed BF2 and the latest 1.3 patch and it connects now, all good.
Another problem now though...wanna bind some keys, like crouch to left shift but it keeps saying duplicate key found in helicopter controls when there is no duplicate key. I seem to remember having to edit some config file to allow this last time. Any ideas?

JUST put 1.4 on and ONLY 3-5 Servers are on line 6,20 am now tho

Also after trying to roll back my patch to 1.3 i cant get anything working - Im so use to having to e do all my patches now it does my head in..
Last ight i Downloaded the Full 1.3 Patch and now i still cant get on any servers.
Do i have to re-reinstalll teh game??
