all of this is probably a ploy to make people buy SF and when they've sold loads of that they'll put the AA back again

Yeh right. Ghost sucks now, no more helis!

Everyone was trying out snipers today on Ghost so I went up the mosque tower and got some pistol kills for my badge easily, it is so accurate now, well good. And SA80 is real accurate too.

Support is worthwhile now as you can actually kill ppl! Before, once, a support soldier was shooting me from the hip and I walked up to him and knifed him, they were sooo bad!

No more bunny hoppers which is good!

AA is gay now and needs to be fixed.

I have a feeling that the patch, aside from the changes and fixes and things they screwed up, was the graphics 'shell' their new European Expansion needs to run in and we're their Alpha test team.

We see a patch release and get excited. We install it. Many issues are discussed like they are here. EA has a big pow-wow and deal with the issues the 'test team' discovers and discuss in vain. They release a maintenence patch and incorporate the same fixes into the new expansion. They release the new expansion (wow, it's a really small download too) and it runs smooth and gets accolades all around.

Sounds like good business to me.

Bonus: No complaints from 'paying' customers who purchase the coming expansion pack and discover their ATI card is no longer supported and the game is unplayable. "Support for your card was dropped BRFORE you bought the expansion."

Interesting stuff.

Grant.. here's the 9250 issues then

The Radeon 9250 chipset is not, repeat NOT compatible with DirectX9. It is a DirectX8.1 able chipset.

Yeah, but the fact is it was working fine before the patch for many many people. Then they patch it and it doesn't run. So why mess it up ?

It all seems a bit lame to me.. it's not like they introduced a whole new load of graphics effects or something.

The EA forums are completely full of hundreds of people unable to play now.

Not that i'm one of the people that's suffering. Just that my cousin has only just shelled out money for the SF expansion and there was no warning of this change in any of the patch notes.

They just wanted to grab the money and didn't care who was effected.

Yes i can see this p!ssing a lot of peeps off. But it does not say it supprots the 9250 in the system specs. so I guess they were playing on borrowed time.

mabe if there is enough noise they will fix it.

I have to admit my feelings ae mixed with the new 1.2 patch. EA and Dice obviously had a double edged sword. On one hand I applaud the fact that ground troops have had the battlefield evened up against air attacks by plane and helo's. No one likes the games were the game is totally owned by a skilled pilot that seems invincable, except the the pilots doing the 'owning'!

As much as its going to be frustrating for me to get my next badges for airplanes and helo's, I think we all have to admit that it is more realistic now. Seriously any direct hit with an anti air missile should bring down a plane or helo. It just needs a tiny bit more tweaking. But I totally agree with it sucking that when you do fire an anti air missile, and you do miss, how the hell it always seems to find a friendly to hit most of the time drives me insane. It does need some tweaking. It's beyond difficult to get a foothold on any map where the US starts on the Essex.

Its also a huge difference now that you can't blow up mines with grenades or gun fire from an APC/Tank. Karkand just became a total bottleneck at the front entrance to the town now. Great if your the commander for the MEC who must be singing not 'party' but 'arty all the time arty all the time.. arty all the tiiiimmmmee!' *snickers from the MEC and groans on the US* ugh did I just say that.

-another point, you should be able to shoot when running and jumping, just make the accuracy brutal as it should be. Lets see those cross hairs grow so it fits 2 enemies within it at a distance.

-little point- I think the new sounds are cooler
- like the new guns, like the fact they reduced flash bangs, and their effective radius. I am living with the reduced grenade launching damage radius, as this was becoming on of my more favorite weapons. But I am using it less now to because of the longer reload time.

Basically it looks like most of the changes have been geared towards encouraging more ground offense, and evening out the playing field against expert pilots.

Maybe in their next patch there will be an upgrade for 'Sneaky Sneekers' to help me get my Expert Knife badge??? lol

the jumping thing bothers me with a few things:
C4: now really hard to throw over walls etc
Medic bags/support: cant throw them up to people on higher levels etc
Knives! Cant dive at peoples feet and knife them anymore

I'm gonna have to disagree with midnight in a big way, I've played a LOT since the patch the AA isn't that much better at all, yes it is better and it is a litle bugged at times, but it's not all that much better.

If i can fly around for a whole map and not gert shot down once even tho i had lot's of AA fired at me, then it's clearly not that hard still.

I agree with Mani. Although it is a bit easier to take down enemy planes/helo's. I am more frustrated with misses seeming to find friendlies more often then not! It would have been nice to if EA/Dice actually mentioned what new 'issues' they were working on fixing with the 1.2 patch

I still want my 'Sneaky Sneekers' upgrade and it would be cool if you could actually throw knifes to get a silent kill!
