I must of been living under a rock for the past 4 months as I hadnt even heard of this game till last night, managed to catch the tv advert last night (the one with the REM song)

This is one game ill defo be getting when I get my 360, anyone else got it yet?

i just picked myself up a copy of this today. All I can say is WOW.. what an awesome game, from the graphics to the animations.. just stunning so far.

Like most console games it is overhyped alot, however its still good fun, but doesnt deserve the 10 out of 10 scores I have seen thrown about. Defo the best graphics and sound on the 360 so far, with some of the bass shaking my room and walls till you think they will come down around your ears. Still its not the best game I have ever played nor is it the best console game I have ever played, its still very good tho.

T'is a very good game, there was a lot of hype but if people thought it would be the best game ever made, they'd need a slap. Great music, great sound, great anims and great action. If you like action games, you'll love it. It also looks fantastic, probably the best I've seen.

Clearly a lot of love went into it. Controls can be mighty dodgy though... take a bit of getting used too.

I've been playing the multiplayer versus stuff all night, it's really good if you work as a team providing cover. Gotta love chainsawing someone to death too

Fantastic game imo. Best console game ive ever played certainly (although my console experience is limited). Coop is amazingly good, me and a mate played it till 5am last night and really didnt get bored at all.

I think the story is a bit weak/poorly told, but the gameplay is awesome. I think it could be the first console game ive played that will be really really good for clan games n stuff like that. Apparently the people who made it got a lot of their inspiration from playing paintball, so tactics etc are a huge part of MP and Co-op.

Yeah, if you got the limited edition, like me, you'll see in the "An Inside Look At Gears Of War" book you get with it, the lead designer says about the ideas they got from paintballing.

Really good game. Been wanting a good shooter on the 360.

We'll all have to get on a server together sometime, be well funny. As Midnight says, the chainsawing is mad, it's what the MP is all about, lol.

I'm absolutely loving the multiplayer on this, not only is it one of the best console games ever it's probably one of the most fun FPS games I've ever played in multiplayer. The tactics with taking cover are so cool, but it's the speed of the gameplay with those tactics that makes it so good imo.

I love the cinematic effect when you sprint across open ground too, that's class.

I'm pretty stunned how much this game has sucked me in, it is a shame it isnt a little longer but the replay value is good.

Whats it like with a joypad though ?

It's made for the joypad obviously so the controls are easy and aiming is easy, even with the sniper rifle for headshots.

Aiming is a doddle. Going over it again on hardcore now, and then insane, which i've just unlocked after doing it on casual. As i've read/heard though, casual makes it a bit short.

I'll start insane with my bro when he's completed it. Aiming is a piece of piss.

They seem to have got the difficulty levels quite well balanced... casual didnt take too much work without being too easy, hardcore is pretty full on and when I try insane I pretty much expect a lot of fun

You lot seem to be playing through the difficulty levels quite fast. Is the game short or are you just putting a lot of play-time in?

If I'm honest, to me it didn't seem to short. If it went on for longer it would have felt like milking it if you know what I mean? Felt like a good point to stop. Plus it's always good leaving people wanting a little more...
