Half-Life 2 Episode 1 Review
Spending so much time with Alyx is much less of a pain that I was expecting, usually computer controlled NPC's just get in the way and either die too easily therefore making some areas really hard or are more or less invincible and make things too easy. Now I've not seen Alyx die yet but she doesn't pack a lot of firepower so you'll still have to do a lot of the work alone, this seems to create a nice balance and it somehow feels quite natural to have her with you, impressive stuff.

was too short for me leaves u feeling unsatisfied and wanting more, and i didnt like the overeliance on the flashlight due to alot of it being in the dark, became quite irritating. that said its still good and i look forward to the next episode

Thanks for the review. Sounds good but HL2 never compelled me to complete the original game, so I don't think I'll be splashing out on this.

I thorght the level design was liner at best with Alyx guiding you around most of the game.

All single player fps's are a bit linear, it's nature of the beast. But the level design was great imho.

It is a great game, though I'm not the biggest fan of this episode stuff... seems like a great excuse to bring out a stupidly short game in the time it would take to create two thirds of a full one. Although I enjoyed it, I felt I was cheated out of my money a bit... there's just not enough extra content. It felt like too much of a HL2 milking then an addon

to be far.. to the people which played hl1 and 2 through-out this game was just straight foward and easy etc. how would this be for people which are totally new to pc gaming?

what im saying... abit sort because we've all played and completed HL1/2 severals times probably, so we know what the episodes will be like and we all got the feel of what we gotta do. "Oh shit where to go? DUH ofcourse that box is in the way of a vent, or that switch needs to go in/come out of there"
