"BEYOND BLITZKRIEG" COMING TO EUROPE JUNE 2005
GMX ANNOUNCE THEIR FIRST EVER MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE TITLE

LONDON, UK (25th March 2005) - GMX Media announces the availability of a new massively multiplayer online title for June 2005 – BEYOND BLITZKRIEG is a first-person, online action game where players choose to fight alongside and against thousands of other players on the battlefields of Western Europe. Grab a rifle and experience heart-stopping infantry action or choose to advance your skills in one of dozens of accurately modeled combat vehicles, naval vessels or aircraft. Succeed and help the cause of the Allied or Axis forces. Fail and watch your side be pushed back and struggle for a foothold.

The game world includes more than 36,000 strategic objects such as buildings, bunkers and bridges placed among 4,000+ facilities in 450 cities and towns. A truly massive, single-instance MMOG environment with the current game map measuring over 354,000 square miles.

It allows thousands of players to fight 24/7 in a persistent world in which character advancement and multiple career paths provide a rich RPG layer and strategic systems are driven by player missions and command structure. The game is developed by Cornered Rat Software, the in-house development studio operated by Playnet Inc.

"Beyond Blitzkrieg is an already established and successful game in North America with a dedicated base of thousands of players," commented Eugene Perry, COO for GMX Media. "The game offers an incredible amount of freedom to the player who can choose from a wide variety military roles at the start of their campaign and then go on to rewrite history in this historic online world."

"We are really pleased to be working with GMX", said Al Corey, Playnet's Executive Producer. "We are excited at reaching the long-overdue goal of bringing the game to European players and are sure the experience of re-writing the history of WWII will be a huge hit."

If this could/will work?

Well, it has existed for almost 4 years, so I guess you could say it works. Still, it has been far from a complete game experience, even though they are improving the game all the time. I think Beyond Blitkrieg will be an awesome experience to new players. The learning curve is pretty steep, but if you are into a realistic WWII simulation, Beyond Blitzkrieg is the best game by far...

It`s actually the only game in it`s class. The ability to fight together in an online army against a human enemy is a lot of fun. Sometimes your jaw just drops when your`re on your stomach crawling in the grass while tanks thunder down the road close by, big AT guns fire overhead from the hillside, pilots in a life and death twisting struggle in the sky above and MGs spraying the ground just a few meters in front of you. You might just wanna freeze and enjoy the sounds and the feeling of a war going on around you... Makes me get the goosebumps sometimes.

What everyone

....should think of before buying this game is that you have to be patient to learn, try to be sosial and learn from veteran players. If you rush out there not beeing prepared, you will be killed! Just like in a real war. Most of the time not even knowing what killed you before you check your stats online and see that it was a tank MGing you. This game is almost like real. It`s sneak and hide, from cover to cover. Often like a game of chess, not exposing your weakness to you enemy. If you do, you know what will happen. You are fighting a human oponent and he will kill you.

The other important thing to remember is that this game has very high system requirements. I would recommend P4 3GHz, at least 1 gig RAM, a good video card and a joystick (a must for crewing trucks, tanks, guns, boats and planes). I also think the game experience gets much richer if you play together with a friend and use some kind of voice com (like Teamspeak). Therefore I recommend buying a microphone for your

....PC too, which make cooperation and communication much easier.

And finally: Even if this game is a first person shooter, it`s nothing like BF1942, Medal Of Honnor and the likes. This game is a completely different animal and requires the players to use patience, maturity and tactical skills/thinking instead of the "quick-mouse-killer-skills" that is most important in other games. You have to know your own strenght and weaknesses as well as that of your enemy. All equipment is accurately modeled WWII era and the players should learn the spesifications and pros/cons of most. It is demanding, but also immensely rewarding when you learn to master it.

Still I would say this game has a long way to go to fullfill it`s potential, but by now the game has developed into a really awesome game. The progress could be faster, but with limited resources, but a very dedicated playerbase, the developers has really made this game one of a kind. If a real online war is what you want, this is as

....close as you get and it will be even better in the future.

If you think you would enjoy it, you should give it a go and find out if you are up for it or not. This game might not be for everyone, but those loving WWII, simulation, tactics and realism, will find this to be the best game ever. FYI: I`ve followed the game since winter 2000, before it was released ;-)

So, when Beyond Blitzkrieg hits the store, why not pick up a copy for you and your best friend?

Thanx, Felon :-) But as my teacher said in the old days, "If you could only read through once before handing over the paper, I would give you what you want." Of course I didn`t dare reading through at all after that, cause I knew what I wanted from her...

Oh, and btw.... I got lots of inside screen shots if it is of any interest. It`s a petty with so few published here.

Now I`ll just stick my neck back in there and get sloughtered again. Sweet delight! ;-)
