World of Warcraft News  by Shane L at 16:25

PC
News today is filtering through that the massively popular WOW has now got 1.5 million subscribers.

Irvine, Calif. – March 18, 2005 - Blizzard Entertainment today announced that World of Warcraft, its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has surpassed the 1.5 million subscriber mark, underscoring the game's continued success around the world. Building on its record-breaking debuts in North America, Korea, and Europe, World of Warcraft has reached global peak concurrency – the number of subscribers playing at the same time in each market – of more than 500,000 players.

Ok im no genius but you do the math, 1.5 million times 8 pounds a month equals...err a lot.

Jesus H Christ, that's £12 Million a month. That's a serious amount of cash. I certainly hope they are gonna put some of that back into the game

Aye its a pity, just means more companies will make shallow shite for profit.

Shite games are the mainstream unfortunately, people just cant get enough of them, so why bother making a decent one.

They will probably bring out a Warcraft version of Golf soon, and make money from that also.
