BioWare and EA today announced that Mass Effect 2 had begun shipping to retailers worldwide and would appear to be already getting an unprecedented number of pretty much perfect review scores.

Mass Effect 2 has received universal acclaim from top media outlets in the UK, earning perfect scores from Eurogamer (10/10), GamesRadar (10/10), gamesTM (10/10), Official Xbox Magazine UK (10/10), Total PC Gaming (10/10), VideoGamer.com (10/10), 360 Magazine (5/5) and X360 Magazine (10/10).

The Guardian (5/5) says Mass Effect 2 is "already a contender for game of the year", and Zoo (5/5) says that "all sequels should be made with this much care".
