The Most Important Games Ever Made  by Shane L at 08:26

Ah nostalgia, Space Invaders or Donkey Kong, Gauntlet or even Pac Man they are all on a list from an article on 1up.com

In just four decades, video gaming has grown immensely as a medium. While games probably aren't really as popular as the movie industry, despite what some claim, there's no doubt that gaming is a remarkably popular form of entertainment -- especially considering how long it's been around. With each passing year, games grow more sophisticated: the graphics become more realistic, the sounds more convincing, and the interactivity feels more engrossing

I can still remember running down the arcade to play Gauntlet with school friends, ohh the days. www.1up.com

Hmm, replace doom with Wolf3D imho. It was the 1st after all.

And probably add Manic Miner for the spectrum as it was the 1st really good/poplular platform game.

I'd also Kick Off or Sensible Soccer for the Amiga as the 1st good football games.

WUD, Manic Miner pre-ceded JSW.

Shane, red alert was sequel to Command and Conquer , which is eprhaps the game that 'should' be in the list, ground breakin RTS game that it was.
