Most played games  by Craig D at 11:32

There's a little article on Voodoo Extreme listing the top 20 played games right now, they exclude mmorpg's but are interesting to see non the less.

1. Half Life - 36575 servers, 65100 players
2. Half Life 2 - 12616 servers, 32134 players
3. Call of Duty - 6166 servers, 12676 players
4. Americas Army: Special Forces - 1877 servers, 7360 players
5. Unreal Tournament 2004 -3220 servers, 7166 players

So, it seems Call of Duty isn't half as dead as some people would have you believe. And also that Counter-Strike:Source has a long way to go before it's as popular as Counter-Strike.

Or how unacustomed to change they are. if wolfenstein 3d had online capabilities that would probably be #1

Wolfstein 3D does have online version - it is called Enemey Terrirtory and even though it is a free download it has less players than Half Life because of the thousands of mods available you have to download new updates for almost every server you connect to.

FPS have had some amazing releases in the last year (HL2, Doom3, FarCry, Call of Duty, UT2004, MOH: Pacific Assualt). The reason HL1 is still top is because it was such a good game it still brilliant after all this time.

FPS games agreed, but the multiplayer scene is not much cop was what i was trying to say.

there is still nothing quite like killing someone actually played by a person. not that im going to be a murderer or anything

tbh I prefer teamwork in a game, single player 1v1 is ok to a certain degree but gets a tad tedious.

Call of Duty Search and Destroy mode requires team work, Deathmatch is ok for a match or two though.

i dont really like s&d or counterstrike for that metter. i have a very, very short attention span sometimes so i need to be doing something all the time. i think i might have adhd or something but probably not.

but...

Reenacting as a WWII Soldier is much more fun (costs more though )
