Atari today revealed the vast number of Act of War: Direct Action demos downloaded globally since its online debut on Friday 14 January. In just over two weeks well in excess of half a million fans have downloaded the demo to experience an early first-hand taste of tomorrow's war. The first weekend saw an incredible 110,000 downloads in Europe alone.

In total over 230,000 European gamers have made space on their hard drives for the demo, while in the U.S. the figure has shot past 350,000 and climbing. With the counter showing little sign of slowing down on either side of the Atlantic, the Act of War: Direct Action demo is on the verge of setting a new record for Atari
