To kick off Microsoft's keynote speech, they had the lead designers for 4 of this year's upcoming titles come and speak to us a bit about what we could expect.
First up was Fallout 3, and we were treated to a short video + a demo. Features for this game will include multiple combat options, such as 3rd or 1st person mode, slow motion, real-time, plus a few other tricks. According to the designers, you will be able to play the game "how you want it", and they'll be a number of different character paths to run with. There will also be exclusive downloadable content available just for the 360.
Next was Resident Evil 5, and this will be the series first instalment on the 360. Again, we were treated to a demo (which they couldn't actually finish because of time constraints) and they revealed the new co-op mode that will be debut on this title. Yes, for the first time, you will be able to team up with a friend over Xbox Live, and play the campaign together. Also, the chainsaw guy from 4 is back.
Then along came Peter with Fable II. Nothing new to report, just a demo to show off the new drop in/drop out co-op mode that will be available, and he confirmed that it will be released in October this year.
Last, but not least, was Gears of War 2. We were shown some new CGI footage, plus a new demo, and all of the so-far known features were confirmed. They also announced that there will be new 5-player co-op mode called 'Horde', where you get to team up with 4 of your mates, and you have to try and defeat wave after wave of locust invaders. Should be fun. Gears of War 2 will be coming exclusively to Xbox 360 this November.
That’s all for this update. Stay tuned.
