Gran Turismo 4 Release Date  by Craig D at 13:29

Playstation
Most Playstation 2 owners will be pleased to know that Gran Tursismo 4 will be released shortly in Europe, March 9th to be exact, just over a month away.

After four years in the making, the game that creator Kazunori Yamauchi called "More than a sequel but, in fact, a redefinition of what a video game can be", is complete. Polyphony Digital, Inc., the acclaimed developer of the eagerly anticipated Gran TurismoTM series and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, the game's publisher, today announced that Gran Turismo 4 will blast onto the shelves across PAL territories on March 09.

With over 700 cars, more than 50 race tracks, new music, new manager and photo modes, better-than-real-life graphics and enhanced simulation, this is the "must-have" driving game of the year.

It would seem the Euro version does actually carry 10 extra cars as a bonus. You can find out more at http://www.granturismoworld.com/.

Wow - the screenshots look just...wow. I never play my PS2, but I might just have to buy this game for the eye candy. I love it when a good plan comes together.

Yunno, I've just remembered why I probably won't buy this game, unless my info is out of date: collisions.

I remember looking this game up well over a year ago to see if they'd put in any deformation/destruction into the game, but they said they didn't plan to. Worst bit about GT3, IMO, is that you can twat a car into a wall as hard as you like...which seems silly to me.

I thought originally they werent allowed to deform the cars as the manufacturers said they couldnt. Maybe that still stands.
