I think it is Shane , the end actually saddened me . funnily enough I am re playing it now that my PC will allow me to play it in all its glory . Think RPG with top rate FPS game play , Cragtek gave it 8.5 / 10 & he wrote a good review but I didn't agree with all of his summation's ( sorry Craig ) .
The plot in my humble option was quite straight forward to follow , I did not have the crashing to desktop issues ( this is almost certainly due to the fact mine was a later build of the game ) and the music & graphics ( now I have an 8800 GT ) are fabulous.
But for me the greatest part of the game was the final push into Chernobyl , it was frenetic and at times a desperate struggle to get to a peice of cover where you could patch up and prepare for another assault e.g. changing ammo or primary rifle.
There are multiple endings which change based upon how you played the RPG element . I would recommend it to anyone who likes a thing mans shooter.

never fancied STALKER, it got mixed reviews tbh, some loved it, some hated it.
