Games to watch in 2005  by Craig D at 11:07

Eurogamer take an interesting look at whats coming in 2005, probably quite a lot more than you thought.

Team Fortress 2 (Vivendi-Universal/Valve)
European release date: TBC - estimated 10th of Never

Firmly in the beyond-a-joke camp for its extensive delays, but encouraging news emerged from Valve's Gabe Newell last year about the fate of this project, and although the company is no doubt busy enough with Half-Life 2-related expansions to worry too much about kicking this out of the door this year, there's every chance a separate Valve team has been busy beavering away Counter-Strike: Source-style on the quiet. Then again, it may just be Gabe's little joke, to make sure PC gamers have something to look forward to. Assuming we do see something of this game, it wouldn't be unreasonable for E3 to be the venue for its unveiling. Frankly, if it's not there this year we should give up ever mentioning its existence ever again until it lands on our desk

TF2, hehe, talking about it's release is always good for a laugh.

Does make you wonder where the hell all the development went doesn't it? I mean I remember seeing avis of 'in game' footage from TF2. Remember the guys on the big machine guns, and the one of the guy hiding behind a pillar then grabbing someone and putting a knife to their throat. I keep telling myself that someone at valve accidently wiped all the hardrives when the game was almost done and they couldnt be bothered to restart it.

Not far off, they scrapped it and decided to use the source engine, last I heard anyway.

TF was a great laugh, I hope they get back to it eventually.
