Unreal Tournament 3 Beta Demo  by Craig D at 23:36

PC
It's demo mania this weekend and to top it off comes the 741mb Unreal Tournament 3 beta demo. Personally I'm much more excited about Call of Duty 4 but that all down to taste, I'm sure this will be cool too.

Grab it from Fileplanet, FileShack and Gamer's Hell.

I do not get this game. Remember all the hype about the engine and all those 'amazing' shots with all of the architecture etc. And to come out with something that doesn't look much better than previous games is just rediculous.

Perplexer it seems to auto set the graphics based on your system, it is pretty much just as pretty for as the videos and screenshots showed.

Also dont forget demos almost always use lower res textures to save space, so I do expect the full game to be even prettier.

Saying that it still ain't the best game ever, its pretty much a clone of the old UT games.

Being a hardcore fan of the original UT (still playing), I liked the demo so far, except for the fact that I can barely run it with all those ULTRA LOW settings. It feels more like the original, but as usual, need to wait for the final product to be able to judge properly. But as it stands now, I tend to like it, and that's much coming from my mouth. I didn't like 2003/2004 at all, it felt just stupid. But this I like, especially the flak.

Will try it later, but I never did like UT much, the guns that fires green blobs of goo and a few other weapons annoyed me too much.

I upped the settings and lowered the resolution. Looked better but not astounding. Will see what the release version is like. Good paced game though.

It runs fine at 1920*1200 but it's unstable at all res's and has no AA yet, jaggies galore.

It's reasonable good fun for a twitch shooter too. Doubt Ill buy it tough.

There wont be AA mate ( have been reading into it ) so high res is the order of the day . TBH its not my cup of tea so I wont be buying it , shame really because it looks good even as a demo.

It was not unstable for me Craig, I didn't have one crash.
It didn't drop below 60 fps either.
Still as I said before fun for 10 mins, but not enough to warrent buying.
