SteelSeries Announce Ikari Gaming Mice  by Craig D at 16:29

PC
We've already had two gaming mouse announcements at Leipzig and SteelSeries have just gone and doubled that by announcing two of their own. The Ikari Optical and Ikari Laser are both due in the last quarter of this year. A pair of product shots can be seen in the gallery.

SteelSeries Ikari Optical
• Specific design for FPS gamers
• Driverless, plug-and-play feature for LAN gamers
• Pressure points that reduce friction for optimized glide
• Ability to toggle between 2 DPI settings

SteelSeries Ikari Laser
• Specific designed for RTS & MMO gamers
• Programmable macro buttons with driverless plug-and-play feature
• Pressure points that reduce friction for optimized glide
• Ability to toggle DPI range with LCD readout

Apparently designed after 15 months of research and development including feedback from over 5,000 gamers. SteelSeries kit is always good but I'm very interested to see how these stack up against Razer's new Bringer of Silent Death and Microsoft's Sidewinder; I wonder if Ikari has any snake connotations?

All I know from the Japanese I've studied is that Ikari means anger. Reminds me of an incident where I missed a putt on Tiger Woods and threw a mouse across the room.
