EA Sports revealed today Be a Pro: Online Team Play, a new mode for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 iterations of FIFA 08. The mode will allow for 5v5 games where gamers will play as a specific player/role on the pitch. AI players will fill out the rest of the team - though EA hinted that in the future they would like to make 11v11 games a real possibility.

Although the mode will not be included in retail release, it will be made available as free downloadable content 6-8 weeks after launch. FIFA 08 hits Europe on 28th of September.

(NASDAQ: ERTS) today unveiled plans for a new feature called Be A Pro: Online Team Play that will enable10 people anywhere in the world to connect online to play a single match of FIFA 08. The new feature, available for the Xbox 360TM video game and entertainment system and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, will be offered as a free downloadable feature six to eight weeks after the game ships to stores. FIFA 08 will be available in stores in Europe on September 28 and beginning October 9 in North America.
