im tempted too, but i dont want to ruin the game by getting off to a bad start with a shitty buggy demo

No i've not but i've only heard great things about the demo. There is only 3 days to wait though so you might as well hold off for the full version.

Been playing the demo this morning - excellent stuff. Ran fine on my machine, demo wasn't buggy at all. Will be pre-downloading this for sure!

Whats the Limited Edition? I preordered it on Steam which is $10 more than a retail copy. How can that be? Best it is the Limited Edition?

Have to say, that does look pretty cool. Does it arrive at your door on the day of release?

Just played it, not sure i noticed it looking better than the 360 version but it didnt look any worse either. Frame rate was solid apart from one instance of slowdown. I'm sure it would look better at a higher res than 1280x1024 cry, might slap it on the LCD to see what it looks like.

One thing i did notice was mouse acceleration, im sure the bugger was on and i hate it! wasn't any option to turn it off either.

Note: copied this from the other thread as it seemed logical

Do you get any error messages when you try to play, or is it just doing nothing? Do you have Vista installed?

I downloaded a demo last night (not the official one). It was leaked on the net, and it didn't work - maybe you've got the same one? It kept saying something like "side to side configuration not working" when I tried running the BioShock exe. I deleted that and got the official one from Gamershell, which worked fine.

Wonder if I've left it too late to order that and get it on the morning of release? I suppose worst comes to worst I have to wait a whole extra day for it. Right, that settles it. Ordering, wish me luck! (The Big Daddy figure sold it to me...)

Mine keeps giving me a error msg in vista too, will start fiddling and let you know if I find a work around. I am using the steam demo, which tbh is a bad ****ing idea as steam is a piece of shit.

Ok I updated the drivers again, make sure you get the ones that were released yesterday not the ones released in july. They are betas and if you need a link I can provide one sam. Also I used some microsoft sofwate to make sure I had the very latest version of dx10, and now it works perfectly in vista and just wow, the water effects are just superb. This is a must own game just wish I had the cash.

At the start where you're in the water, I thought it was a cutscene! Couldn't believe it when I moved the mouse and I looked around. Everything about that descent and the rest of the demo is amazing.

seems like a cool game and looks wicked, runs really well too much rather have it on pc than get 15fps on the 360. gotta agree with poog tho i could feel mouse accel hope u can turn it off in the full version cos i hate it too, even on min sensitivity its too fast

btw ppl who are having problems, to run the game you need a shader model 3.0 capable video card. I believe thats a Nvidia 6600 GT or ATI equivalent and above. Just make sure your system is capable before fannying around

From news/forums around the web it sounds like people are having serious stability problems with the PC version.

Hopefully any stability problems people have been having will be ironed out with the full release. Just hope it's not going to need a patch or twenty over time; that always mars a release in my opinion.
