BioShock PC.ign Review  by Craig D at 12:37

PC
So we're starting go see the PC reviews and the first one I've come across is on IGN, an excellent and well written review from IGN this time and the usual super high score for BioShock.

Most interesting for me are the comments regarding which version to buy, if you have both a PC and Xbox 360 as lots of you do it's especially worth reading the last page.

The PC version definitely outclasses the Xbox 360, mostly because of the ability to crank the resolution to 1920 x 1200. If you've got a Vista rig with a DX10 card, you can expect some heightened particle effects, crisper real-time shadows, and more dynamic water, but the game looks gorgeous regardless.

Does make me laugh when they list the specs of the pc they played it on, quad core 8800 GTX and 4 gig of ram. Just hope my rig will be able to crank it up without frame loss.

I just hope I can play the bloody thing full stop. I've double the RAM required, but I'm a tiny tad under on the processor requirements pending an upgrade.

I'm holding off on the pre-download until I've played the demo and know it runs well. I suppose the good thing about the Unreal 3 engine is it's supposed to scale quite well. But with all the detail in this game...

I'd take the specs they have with a pinch of salt. You don't have to play it with everything turned to max as they have. Still... not the same playing it without all the bells and whistles thoughh

What are the specs they recommend?

I got core2duo @ 3.4ghz, 2gb ram and hd2900xt @ 1680x1050 resolution.

This be ok?
