HalfLife 2 gets closer  by Shane L at 09:39

The boys over at IGN have managed to get hold of a fully working HL2 demo, the demo has been released mainly for publicity purposes by the looks of it and is sure to be one of the headliners at the E3 show that takes place later this month.

A review of the demo can be found here, although it doesn't shed any new light on the game or even hint on a release date but reading the review sure wets the appetite.

Although we've been reporting on the game for a year now, we haven't had a chance to play it -- until now. At a recent pre-E3 event hosted by publisher VU Games, I finally got a chance to go hands-on with the latest build of Half-Life 2. After playing for a bit, we can, at least, say that we hope Valve stays away from errant autos and follows all applicable pedestrian laws

Sooner this game gets released the better as I am sure it would bring with it some cracking mods.

Rumour has it that Counter-Strike two vouchers will be bindled with Ati X800 video cards, due to hit the shelves any time now.

mmm confusing, so is cs2 not going to be a mod of HL2 then ?

I should think not, it certianly will not be free this time, they'd be stupid to make it so wouldn't they?

If I were valve, it's be a cheap (ish) mission/add-on pack for HL2

Well considering how long they have taken over HL2, if CS2 is based on HL2 surely we'll be waiting another year or two for CS2. Even then it will be buggy as ****. They are still bugs they ain't fixed in CS1.

CS was and still is the guinea pig Scrappy, I reckon cs2 if there ever is a cs2 will be pretty sweet, shame it will be tarnished with UKT fan boys but there ya go :)

Don't get me wrong I like CS. i've spent most of my spare time over the years playing it. I just think the makers would have fixed simple things like the ability to sky walk on dust1 and little things like that.
