Sony Add Extra Value to Euro Playsation 3  by Craig D at 08:49

Playstation
Available from next Wednesday the 18th of July will be a new high value Playstation 3 Starter Pack, included for the same £425 retail price will be two first party games (games published by Sony themselves) and an extra SIXAXIS controller.

All in all, much more like it from Sony, I'd still like to see it cheaper though, even with the extra items thrown in.

The choice of first party games available in the Starter Pack will vary to suit the interests of entertainment enthusiasts in each country, but will include million sellers such as Resistance Fall of ManTM and MotorStormTM; titles specifically chosen to demonstrate the stunning graphics and enhanced gameplay of High Definition games on Blu-ray disc.

That enough to tempt any of you lot?

I'd be tempted with that pack if it was £350, maybe.

Its a good multimedia device Mani , I can view all my pictures & listen to all my MP3 music which sit on my NAS upstairs . The games which I have are the biz , a nice change from sitting in study with my head phones on but I recon WarHawk will be the killer app for this console . Like shooting with a mouse ... no problemo ownage for £40

I hated my 360, basically because of the high pitched whine it made constantly

I don't even notice it - with speakers on loud and the 360 in a glass fronted tv cabinet I can barely hear it.

wen u consider the fact the xbox elite is gonna be 350, which is more comparable to the ps3 than the current model as it has the extras the ps3 has as standard, its not actually that bad a deal. altho i think both are overpriced and microsoft are complete twats for only now releasing a proper version of their console, hdmi and a bigger hdd shouldve come in the first place, but then i dont expect anything less from them. if i didnt already have a 360 i def think id choose the ps3 over it

Lo Grant ,no offense was taken m8 . The PS3 does a few thing the 360 does not such as DVD & legacy game up Scaling & HD video playback ( Blue Ray that is ) . The console though is pretty damn cool to look at , its silent & as i mentioned earlier the sucker has mouse support which is a must have for me mate.

Only a ground-breaking game will tempt me to the PS3 - I already have a 360

Consoles make SHIT dvd players full stop, atm the ps3 has virtually no good exclusive games, and as such I cant see a reason to spend such a large amount of cash on one, unless you are a sony fanboy or you have to have the latest toys regardless of the games on it.

Stan m8 , I don't have SKy HD & TBH don't want it unless its the same price as the SD service ... my PS3 is the gives me HD content & I only pay for moves I want to watch. Further more the quality of the movies are on a par with the best HD players on the market one of many reviews . Bottom line is this , I will buy a dedicated player but it will be dual format & it wont be till they come down in price . Your view on consoles & their ability to play movie content is by the looks of it out dated mate , up scale DVD or play native HD content ... you would have to be nutzo to claim the former where better.
