PS3 UK Price Confirmed?  by James B at 19:05

Gamesindsutry.biz have revealed that senior retail sources have confirmed the UK price of the 60GB Playstation 3 to be £425. The 20GB model will apparently not be available over here for the time being.


The UK price is equivalent to just under EUR 647, which is likely to elicit complaints about "rip-off Britain" as Sony has confirmed that the 60GB PS3 will cost EUR 599 in most other European territories. The price for Ireland, however, has been set at EUR 629.99, apparently due to a higher VAT rate.


No word yet on how much the customary rip-off launch bundles will be though.

I wonder if the lack of 20GB model is down to lack of machines produced, or just they don't feel the market is there for it

You'll have a seriously long wait for that. TBH, I don't see them ever dropping it that low. Look at how long they dragged the price of the PS2 on for... it's still not even under £100 new.
