Xbox 360 v2 Coming Soon?  by Craig D at 20:34

XBox
engadget spills the beans on what would look to be an updated Xbox 360 with a much larger HD (120gb) and an HDMI port as standard. Of course this version also features the slightly delayed 65nm CPU. True? Rumour? No idea to be perfectly honest.

The 120GB drive may or may not come bundled with the kit, we don't yet know, just as we also don't yet know how much a Zephyr 360 is going to run (we imagine it'll go for the same price as currently so they can keep up a little on their expanding margin). But our very kind Xbox insider seemed happy to let us know we'd be able to get them "soon."

I was waiting until the new 65nm version was out before I was going to buy a 360, then the wife surprised me with a premium pack one.

It would have been wrong to say 'no'.

The question is - will we be able to upgrade the existing 360 drives to something bigger?

Aye we should be able to, seeming that you can add a hard drive to the basic bundle. I am just hoping there is some way we can use the hdmi cable.

I'm not really sure how many actual games you would have to own before you ran out of hard drive space, just looking at things from a practical side....

If memory serves, 80 GB is alot of storage, and they only storing what, mods to the DVD that it reads every time you want to play a game, and besides the patches, your actual saves of the game....

presuming for some wierd reason a save takes 1 mb, which btw is poor game design, could easily take alot less with better game design....

1mb is 80,000 saves....yes, you'd need to make 80,000 saves if you have an 80 GB card. presuming you need alot of patching, say you own like I don't know, 1,000 xbox 360 games, then presuming you need patching of 20 mil per game, would be only 20 GB. yep, 20 GB for patching your 1,000 games....you'd still be able to DL new games that you get off xbox live for free, and saving chars.....I'd be really shocked if anyone ran out of hard-drive space....even more shocked if they decided to purchase more hard-drive space instead of I don't know, deleting the umpteen different games they never plan to play again so pay because too lazy to erase unwanted storage space....

where are you getting the 80GB from? the 360 has a 20GB drive and a demo often weighs in at over a GB, then you have you patches and extra downloaded content such as maps, cars or what ever. not to mention the MP3's you save for you in game enjoyment and in Stans cas 15GB of HD-Porn
