There's been complaints running around the internet about the Wii's wrist-straps breaking too easily, but today Nintendo has made an official statement claiming no fault in the design, but rather in enthusiastic players. Although they will not recall the straps, free replacements are offered for broken ones.
I've found no problem with mine, but then I don't twirl my remote around by the strap - which I've heard some people do.
